Part B Consolidated Billing Update
December 2000 The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), in Program Memorandum Transmittal A-00-88 dated November 22, 2000, informed long-term and post-acute care providers that until further notice, consolidated billing will not be implemented. Part B physical, occupational and speech therapy services still remain subject to consolidated billing regulations. Providers may choose to bill for all other Part B services and supplies, such as enteral and ostomy supplies, and will be paid in accordance with the provisions of Program Memorandum A-00-88. However, providers may elect to have suppliers continue to bill Medicare directly for these Part B services. |
